The 2014 Westmeath Junior Football Championship
The date for this year’s final should be Sunday 5th October at 1.30pm in Cusack Park. Moate All Whites defeated St Pauls in the match preceding our own semi-final against Kilbeggan so they will be the team we will take on in the final.
The game promises to be a tough one, but with the whole village pulling behind us we believe we can succeed. Preparations are under way as we speak with the entire panel working extrememly hard to be ready in time for our first Junior final appearance since 1997. Many people can still remember that game however few are still around that attended our last successful final appearance way back in 1956.
We know that we have the support of everybody associated with the Multyfarnham area, now it is time to come and show it. We have been a while waiting for this day, hopefully it will be a good day.
The Under 14 team have managed to reach the semi final of the County Championship, which will be played this Saturday at 11.30am in Milltown. This is a young talented team who are being well coached by Joe Kelly and Kevin Coffey. Everyone should make a special effort to get down to Milltown to support the young stars of the future.
On Saturday we will also have our club shop open in the Community Centre. We have a limited number of merchandise up for grabs including large and small flags, car flags, teddy bears, bunting and the rest. We also have some polo shirts available to buy through the club, if anybody is interested in buying one contact Gary Guilfoyle or any member of the committee. The shop will be open on Saturday from 3pm till 5pm and then after Mass from 7.30pm until 9pm. We will also open on Sunday from 12pm till 3pm.
