Underage Report 27th Feb.

Underage Match’s

The Minors played Kilbeggan St Josephs on Sunday morning in Multyfarnham in their first outing of the year. Multyfarnham won the game 5-5 to 2-6 with Ciaran McCabe, Alan Casey and Darren Aughrey playing very well. Kibeggan though were missing a few of their better players and did have a few under 16′s filling their ranks. Whilst our lads in general did play well some of them were showing a certain rustiness when it came to passing, tactical awareness and technical ability, too many times we went for the wrong option which cost us. Overall team discipline was good even though the ref wouldn’t be adhered to Multy, in fact he gave some dreadful decisions against Kilbeggan but managed to give us 4 or 5 yellow cards for fouls that weren’t!

The Under Fourteens were unlucky against St Marys Rochfortbridge losing by three points in the end despite being a man short! The entire team all had good games. The lads are out again next Saturday away to Garrycastle details of which will be texted out. Adam Loughrey, Thomas McGivney and Stephen Sweeney were continuing their good run of form from the school games, these three boys are definitely future stars in the making.
